Without good friends...

I would go crazy! As I lay down to sleep last night I felt so grateful that I've always been blessed with good friends. Especially now in this stage of life I wonder how I could survive without an occasional ladies night or play date (these are really all about the mom's you know). Top: Benson helping me get ready for the pool party.
Bottom: Benson and his great friend Daxton. Thanks Daxton for being such a patient and great friend for Benson!

On Tuesday, I invited a few friends and their children over for a 'pool party'. It was warm enough for a bit but turned overcast and nasty by the end (hence Benson's PJs in the picture on the porch). The true need for us women to get together was apparent by our willingness to sit outside in the cold until the husbands arrived home.
Yesterday was delightful as we celebrated at Kelly's baby shower. I, as always, was hyper and pumped up when I arrived home. So much laughter and fun. Thanks for getting pregnant Kelly!

Above: This is a picture from the shower. I'm sad so many people left before we got the idea to take a group shot.
So the point of this post is to say that I really appreciate all my friends. I feel validated and strengthened by the time we spend together. Hearing one of Renee's wal-mart stories, planning a silly wedgie picture, hearing terrible two's advice, and more... Taking the nights and days out really make me a better mother and wife, so thank you!

I totally agree Kim, friends make all the difference. I couldn't function as a mom without some time for adult interaction, laughter and food.

That is such a great picture of Benson and Daxton! Last night was so much fun. I love girl nights and I am so happy that there are so many fun girls to hang out with. It just happens to be very convenient that we all live within blocks of eachother! PS I'm jealous of your pedicure!

I am so glad that we are friends! You have been so fun to hang out with. You always have great advice on mothering. I can't wait until my son is old enough to play with everyone else's kids (although he will always be younger).
