DIAPERS. I used to think this was a lame gift, until I had my little guy and didn't have to buy any diapers until size 3! This cake was a fun and easy way to give them. Instead of individually rolling each diaper, each layer contains diapers all rolled together. This is easier for the mom-to-be also!
BOOTIES. I just think they are the most adorable thing baby. These are from Target and are especially wonderful. They are all leather, affordable, and really stay on. Since I couldn't stand socks constantly falling off or cold baby feet, these were a must-have. Also note that I included diapers in this gift to, go figure.

I am going to try your way on my next diaper cake. Rolling them takes so long and I always worry about the hassle it will be for the new mom to unroll each one.
I noticed you said something about a bootie fetish last night. Little shoes are the cutest kind of shoes, I must admit. Sadly, Andrew didn't really have any shoes (only socks) until he could walk. That, of course, was the engineer of the family demanding that "Kids that can't even walk yet don't need shoes!" What a party pooper. :)
Hey kim, I'm helping my sister make a diaper cake this week. How many diapers did you use? Does not rolling use more or less? I agree disassembling a rolled cake is a pain! I just cut the rubberbands, but it still left all the diapers rolled up. Thanks! Bre
Bre--
I'm really not sure how many diapers I used. Really any number would work, making it bigger or smaller. I just winged it, so I can't be of much help. One idea is to try it this way (it only takes a couple minutes) and if you don't like it, roll them all up.
