I know this is late in coming but this is the first chance I've had to sit down at the computer since Sunday. I just wanted to talk for a moment about the gifts I received for mother's day.
First, I got the DVD recorder that I've been eying. It also has a hard drive so it is also essentially a DVR for people like us who don't pay for TV. So far I've recorded some of The Office and Barney (the Barney is another story but, yeah it's Benson's new favorite thing--much to our dismay). It is so great to not watch commercials and not have to clear your schedule for your favorite show. Thanks Rob and Beno!
Second, I got the wonderful gift from my in-laws of watching Benson so Rob and I could take off to Lake Powell for a few days. It was cold and windy but the time away was wonderful none the less. I really enjoyed the time to reconnect with Robert as a couple. I also feel like a better mother because I missed Benson and had the time to remember all the great things about him. He is the best son to be a mother of...
AND he has given me so much love and hugs since yesterday, which is the best gift of all.

What fun! It is always so nice to have time away as a couple, whether it is just a date or for a few days like you just had! Sounds like it has been quite the interesting week based on all the firsts you wrote...glad you had fun together without any kids!
That DVD recorder sounds great! I remember you telling me about it. That is nice you guys got to go to Lake Powell. You've got to post some pictures!
I love lake powell. I want more details about it. We went to the lake today (more about it on my blog later...) but it was soooo theraputic even though it was windy and the water was cold. Something about the boat and losing track of time gets me every time. Hope you enjoyed yourselves. Love, Em
