Earth Day

It's a nice April Shower kind of day here. We are keeping busy with some Earth Day activities inside. Of course, I do have a three year old so these are very simplistic ideas.

*Coloring Pages (I printed ours out on the back of scrap paper.)

*Make banana bread. (I've been freezing overly ripe bananas for a month or two. We can hopefully talk about not wasting food during this time.)

*Watch WALL-E. Other "green" movies we love are: Fern Gully and Happy Feet. (If you are like us, and have Netflix streamed to your TV/computer, WALL-E is currently on the instant play list.)

*Start some of our garden seeds in an egg carton garden. I plan on giving a portion of the garden to my son for "his" plants. Those are the ones we will start today. If you don't have seeds to start there are countless other fun crafts to do with old egg cartons.

Wall-E, really? I would take Fern Gully over Wall-E any day. (I will admit that I like the part that shows an x-ray of how the human bones have evolved with their vegetative state.)

I'm impressed. I can't say that I even thought about having a "green" day with my kids. Way to be an overachiever! :)
