I hope I don't lose my sense of smell.

I know I shouldn't but I keep thinking about all the things that could go wrong with the sinus surgery. It is less than a week away! Yesterday Benson and his grandparents picked a few lilacs for me while I was at the dentist. ** I LOVE lilacs. I remember my house in Vermont had quite a few bushes and I wore them in my hair to church as a child. I think the smell of them is my very favorite scent. Just in case I do lose my sense of smell next Tuesday I'm going to spend the next few lines tributing all my favorite scents.
1. Lilacs
2. The beach
3. Fresh bread
4. Aveeno baby hair and body wash--really I only love the smell ON a baby.
5. Rain
6. Cilantro
7. Fire
8. That clean laundry smell--some candle companies call it cotton or fresh linen
9. The dull smell of cleaning products that can only be created by a freshly cleaned home
10. Apple pie
This is definitely not an extensive list (or in any particular order) but it makes me very sure I don't want to lose the joy of smelling. Although, I seemed to be able to come up with a lot more smells I don't like...

** I found out at the dentist that I have several cavities. What's worse, they are in between the teeth so it's pretty much my fault for not flossing every night. Also, Rob had the chance to say, 'I told you so' because he does floss every night. Drat.

I hope you don't lose your sense of smell (and therefore your sense of taste, too, right?)! Yikes.

Sorry about the cavities. I'm not a big fan of flossing either (GROSS). But my teeth don't do cavities, so it hasn't bit me in th--affected me badly yet. [knocks on wood]

Good luck with surgery! I'm sure it'll be just fine, it's just the recovery that'll be the hard part. But that's awsome your mom's comming up to help. Tell her I say hello :)
I hear ya about the flossing, I'm horrible at that.... but ever since we got a Sonicare toothbrush, I've noticed our teeth are doing a lot better, and the dentist also says 'you're doing a great job flossing' - we just wont tell him I floss maybe once a month ;)

I love the smell of lilacs too. We had several lilac bushes at the house I grew up in and I loved them. They were so pretty too. I guess the south doesn't have lilacs because I've never seen them here.

As far as flossing goes, I'm not sure that is the key to not getting cavities. I floss every night religiously but the last time I went to the dentist I had 2 cavities...I just got them filled yesterday. Not fun...Good luck with the cavities and the surgery.

Cool new background! Your top three scents are mine too! It sounds like you are going to get worked over, but I bet those smells you love are going to be even better after all is said and done. Good luck Kim!

Hey I'm sure the surgery will go great. If you need anything, I'm just over the fence! Seriously, anything.

Yeah, I floss every night and use mouth wash and use a sonicare toothbrush for 2 minutes each brushing session and I still had 3 cavities at my last appointment. I think genetics have a lot to do with it all. Jason is a slacker when it comes to tooth hygiene...doesn't floss, sometimes doesn't even brush...but guess who didn't have any cavities last time he went to the dentist???? Can you tell I'm a bit bitter?
